If your plant could talk, what would it say? That’s what our founders Jared and Jimmy wondered. Right after taking another dearly departed houseplant to the compost bin.

Willow was born out of a love for indoor plants and the frustration of never quite understanding what they need. Spending more time at home during that global event in 2020, Jared and Jimmy’s plant collections grew. Their green thumbs? Not so much. 

They weren’t alone. Aussies manage to kill 72 million indoor plants per year. It’s not for a lack of trying but simply, plant care is complicated. So Jared and Jimmy set out to simplify plant care with user-friendly tech to finally crack the age-old mystery of keeping a houseplant alive.

Plant with Willow was founded in November 2020 with development of the plant library, app and Sensor prototype underway. Jared and Jimmy launched a Kickstarter  in November 2021, doubling their funding goal with backers from around the world. 

We delivered our first product in November 2023. Our team and our collective plant collections have been growing since. You can now find Willow keeping houseplants happy and healthy across 31 countries – and likely on the shelves of your local Bunnings, too.
